Beach Volleyball features on the World University Championships sports programme since 2002. No better place as Guadeloupe, a French DOM in the Caribbean, to host the inaugural edition of this FISU sport. Since then, the WUC has travelled to Europe, Asia and the Americas and has also been an optional sport at the Summer Universiade.
